Self Determination Program

At TheraPlay LA, we accept Self-Determination Program funding to access highly individualized pediatric therapy services designed around the whole child.

Our multidisciplinary clinic combines occupational therapy, speech therapy, feeding therapy, sensory integration therapy, airway-focused pediatric therapy, nervous system regulation, and neurodevelopmental care to support children with developmental, sensory-motor, feeding, ADHD, autism, and regulation challenges.

Whether you are brand new to the Self-Determination Program or already searching for an experienced SDP vendor in Los Angeles, our team helps make the process feel clear, supportive, and manageable.

What is the Self-Determination Program(SDP)?

The Self-Determination Program (SDP) is a California Regional Center program that gives families more flexibility, choice, and control over their child’s care and support services. Instead of only accessing pre-approved vendor services through the traditional Regional Center system, families enrolled in SDP are able to choose providers and therapies that best meet their child’s unique developmental needs.

At TheraPlay LA, SDP funding can be used to support highly individualized pediatric therapy services designed through a whole-child, neurodevelopment lens. Depending on your child’s needs, services may include occupational therapy, speech therapy, feeding therapy, and orofacial myofunctional therapy, either as standalone services or as part of an integrated treatment plan.

Our team takes an integrated approach that may incorporate sensory integration, motor development and coordination, oral motor and feeding development, social communication, sleep and airway health, regulation support, and executive functioning strategies to better understand and address the underlying factors impacting a child’s development and daily functioning.

Whether your child needs support with sensory processing, motor development, feeding, communication, sleep, regulation, attention, emotional regulation, social participation, or daily functioning, SDP allows families to build a care plan that is personalized, collaborative, and comprehensive.

TheraPlay LA currently accepts Self-Determination Program (SDP) funding exclusively through ACE FMS (Financial Management Services).

Families who would like to use SDP funding for services at our clinic must have ACE established as their Financial Management Service provider prior to beginning services. At this time, we are unable to process SDP payments through other FMS providers.

If you are new to the Self-Determination Program or need assistance setting up ACE for therapy services, our team is happy to help guide you through the process and provide any documentation needed for your Regional Center team or service coordinator.

We aim to make the SDP process feel supportive, clear, and manageable so families can focus on accessing the care their child needs most.
